War of the Great

For those of bent ideology crying wolf genocide! genocide! war crimes! war crimes! – I bring this reminder of how real war is fought:

Green wisely doesn’t let his admiration of Alexander the general get in the way of his judgment of Alexander the man. Even if one gives AtG a pass on death and destruction caused in the normal course of war-making, it’s hard to overlook things like: crucifying 3,000 defeated soldiers; burning down an entire village because he needed timber for a bridge; massacring 7,000 Indian mercenaries and their wives and children after guaranteeing them safe passage; razing the city of Thebes and selling all remaining living citizens into slavery; and more.

Shame

President Biden told Israeli Prime Minister that nothing of “value” was hit in Iran’s airborne attack Saturday and asserted American forces will not be participating in any offensive against Iran, according to a report.

Well, we knew that Ukrainian scenario is a default, so why am I …not exactly surprised, rather ashamed of this traitor? Shaking in rage.

Napoleon’s rise through the ranks was therefore by no means unique given the political and military circumstances of the day. Still, his progress was impressive: he had spent five and a half years as a second-lieutenant, a year as a lieutenant, sixteen months as a captain, only three months as a major and no time at all as a colonel. On December 22, 1793, having been on leave for fifty-eight of his ninety-nine months of service – with and without permission – and after spending less than four years on active duty, Napoleon was made, at twenty-four, a general.

Binge-watched French series Bureau.

Just when i wanted to shout Eureka and announce to the world a great if controversial hit, it appears I’m about 5yrs too late. The series is an international cult, with fan clubs and glory to all involved in production.

It must be as funny in a “ridiculous and naive” sense as I see the “Ukrainian”and “Russian” seasons – the Middle Eastern portion is for Israelis, various Arabs, Iranians , &&&. Some details are recognizable and believable, but more often than not – anachronistic, lifestyle and motivational dubious. Portrayal of specific national intelligence agencies are more sets of cliche (the flight crew from Mossad takes the prize!) which has a recognition value, but it’s taken over the whole; nuance is definitely lacking.

Of course, the 5th season played in 2020, and since then some political realities changed drastically, some went obsolete (who would’ve thought in 2015 of the scale of the current Russian-Ukrainian war, or conceived the enormity of October 7 massacres of Israelis). But some things differ very little – regional vector of attitudes and hatreds of Middle East. Universal antisemitism. Plus ça change…

Have you seen it? What do you think?

PS. And then these rare sole voices

We have seen in Washington DC, New York, Chicago, London, Paris, Copenhagen, and other cities, large unruly crowds, often violent, marching for “Palestine.” If you listen to their slogans, and interviews of organizers and participants, these are not for “Palestine.” No such entity exists and the marchers couldn’t tell you the history or location of the place.

No.

The organizers of these marches don’t care about Palestine, they are for, let me quite blunt, killing Jews, AND destroying the West.

In other words, they are perfectly in line with the objectives of modern-day Islam.

One particular group within these marchers deserves special mention. Yes, I refer to fellow Jews. They utterly revolt me. I don’t know how many Jews have taken part, but judging for example, by the “pro-Palestine” letters coming out of Hollywood and academia signed by prominent Jews, it’s probably not an inconsiderable number, not as many as the “marchers” pretend, but still.

These Jews remind me of the Jewish Kapos who worked with the Nazis in the death camps and the ghettos helping the Nazis liquidate Europe’s Jewish communities. The most prominent of these living Kapos, of course, is George Soros. He and his organizations continue to work with today’s Nazis to eliminate the Jewish state and to promote the destruction of Europe and America, e.g., uncontrolled immigration from the Third World.

They seem to think that the crocodile will never eat them.

They are wrong, as so many earlier Kapos found out. The Muslim crocodile is not easily sated.

I’m hardly an ‘expert’, but I have set foot, (for varying lengths of time, the longest being 7+ years in Saudi Arabia, in 10 Muslim countries, plus Israel), and many decades ago came to the conclusion that, no matter how ‘normal’ they may outwardly appear, you can never, ever, fully trust an Islamist.

I’m constantly reading accounts of people being attacked/killed by pitbulls or variations thereof and having the owners expressing surprise that such a ‘sweet’ animal would do a thing like that. I always want to scream “But that’s what they ARE and that’s what they DO!”.

Same principle in both instances.

Timid we are not

Forward, Oct 12

“The Partisan Hymn, known in Yiddish as “Dos partizaner lid, expresses the defiant resistance and resilience of the Jewish people. It was composed in 1943 by Hirsh Glik, a young member of the underground resistance movement in Vilna. Glik said he was inspired to write the song upon hearing news of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. According to many accounts, Glik was captured and executed by the Nazis in July 1944.

In the clip, we hear Yonatan singing the first of the four stanzas of the song, translated here below. (You can read the translation of the entire song here.)

Never say that you are walking the final road,
Though leaden skies obscure blue days;
The hour we have been longing for will still come,
Our steps will drum – we are here!

Nothing to excerpt.

What is the point of our 80-year-old president inserting himself physically into the Middle East cauldron?

Other than for campaign photos, and cheap praise from New York Times psy-op columnists (“President Biden’s Finest Hour”), it’s a security nightmare and a needless distraction at a critical time for Israel’s president Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Biden has done his best to undermine and deride as a Trumpist since his election last year.

Biden inherited the Abraham Accords and through pettiness and malice unwound all the good that Donald Trump had achieved in terms of Middle East peace while cozying up to Iran, the region’s main sponsor of terrorism.

It’s all very well for the president to express support for Israel now, but he needs to explain what the hell his administration has been doing harboring at least three anti-Israel Hamas sympathizers with security clearances who allegedly have been acting as agents of influence for Iran.

Let’s see:
1. Left behind $8 Billion in equipment to the Taliban
2. Unfroze $6 Billion in frozen assets to the biggest financier of Hamas (Iran)
3. Turned over $1 Billion in “aid” to the PLA after it was discontinued in the previous administration.

Joe Biden’s Legacy is now official.

Update 1: Bombshell

While “Blinken denies Iran direct involvement in attack on Israel..

Update 2:

By VDH

Upon the ascension of Biden and his woke strategic agendas, we witnessed the following chain of events: 1) the 2021 complete humiliation of the U.S. miliary in Kabul in its greatest defeat in 50 years; 2) followed by Vladimir Putin’s 2022 opportunistic invasion of Ukraine; 3) followed by China’s new belligerence and escalating threats to Taiwan; 4) followed by Turkey’s new de facto alliance with Russia and recent drone encounter with the U.S. air force in Syria; 5) followed by the Hamas/Iranian inspired attack on Israel—6) with more to come unfortunately.[…]

In a sane world, the Biden administration would immediately cancel all talks with Iran, renew sanctions, and stop any cash transferences. (Why were the Obama and Biden administrations so fond of sending so much money to theocratic Iran)? It would stop all aid to the West Bank and Gaza. It would put a travel ban on anyone from Iran or the West Bank and Gaza and pull visas of any currently from Palestine in the U.S. It would immediately ramp up defense spending, especially on missile defense, dismantle the woke commissariat in the Pentagon, and prepare for the unthinkable and existential abroad.

And there is likely zero chance that the handlers of Joe Biden will do any of that.

Jeff Carter:

“The war in Ukraine is like watching two pigs fight in the mud. We can all agree that strongman Vladimir Putin is a dictator and his invasion of Ukraine is simply a brazen attempt to grab more power and money for himself (and his fawning oligarchs). Putin is not a good guy and instead of lifting Russia up destroyed lots of opportunities for it to become a democratic nation. The only reason we care about Russia is it has nukes. If they didn’t have nukes, no one would pay attention to them. At the same time, Ukraine’s government is pretty corrupt too. Strategically, does it make a difference if Ukraine is under Russian control or independent? If I don’t want to send billions and billions of US dollars to Ukraine, am I far right? I don’t think so.

The left consistently moves the goalposts when it comes to defining anything. Far-right isn’t far-right anymore. It might just be the actual place most people would wind up sitting and the left can’t have that because if people advocated for normalcy, they couldn’t foment their real agenda; highly bureaucratic and unDemocratic centralized government control over everything from speech to resources.”

[…]my Ukrainian guests were thrown out on the street with no place to go, my dogs are traumatized, and the custodian [judge] would not let me take my car,” the princess said

The refugee family from Kyiv whom she had welcomed to the palace after the Russian invasion of Ukraine last year has also been forced into temporary quarters, 37 miles south of Rome. Their cramped apartment is only available for another week, “and then the unknown,” said Masha Bratashevska, 40, a stylist from Kyiv.

$100BLN: кто больше?

But Vova won’t give up. In fact, he can’t give up. It’s far better (for him!) that numberless orcs get fed into the meat grinder than for him to admit defeat–and thereby risk getting fed into the meat grinder himself.

Meaning that there is no end in sight. Not just because Putin won’t accept defeat, but because Zelenskyy won’t accept anything but total victory, and indeed Russian failure and Ukrainian success has fed Zelenskyy’s ambitions. As I said probably 9 months ago, the core is empty: there is no mutually acceptable set of terms to end the conflict, even a limited end such as a cease fire or an armistice.

That said, part of the reason that the core is empty is that the US (and Europe) are encouraging Zelenskyy. Or at least, they are afraid to put him in his place, apparently never having learned who pays the piper calls the tune.

I get that giving Putin even the simulacrum of victory presents dangers for the future. But in my mind those are outweighed by the dangers of the present, not least to Ukrainians, but to the world economy, and potentially to the world–for who knows what a desperate Putin will resort to.

Professor is right
