This is a first: I’ll just give you a link to this year-old post at Curbed, and withhold my own commentary. Feel free to add yours – as the authors said, “we know you have it”.

There is a number of possible layouts, depending on Owner’s objectives. It cold be: make a bigger kitchen/ more storage space/ use windows for light exposure to every functional grouping (like: a window in bath, another – in kitchen, etc) , &&&. Since the space is very small, layout requires precise planning: that’s several hours of work even for sketches.
What are your main objections to the space as it is? If you were my client, this is where I’d start and then would try to eliminate them, one by one.
As to bath fixtures combined with guestroom – yes, there was a trend of doing that, especially in suites, sometime in 2000’s. I did t for Soho House in NYC in 2003. It’s a great feature – for guests who are comfortable with nudity and bodily functions…
