- a woman-jogger passed me on the street, flying on 3rd Space Speed towards Shore Rd; I had just enough time to notice she was assisted in her amazing movement by strange elliptical-shape devices. It made her move a bit like a skier and a bit like an athlete on a trampoline. It was like seeing a circus acrobat dropped on to sidewalk. Naturally, once I was home I immediately went googling. Apparently, whole world knows about Kangoo Jumps – for 25 years! Except me.
- In the store I walked around display with various citrus and came across a box with a strange-looking fruit. It was pink with green “under-leaves”, shaped like a lemon but 2-3 times bigger. The price tag said “Oragon Fruit(???) – $9.99”. I smelled it, touched it…no, don’t have any reference for the thing. An Italian guy next to me shopping for oranges didn’t know what it was either. A whole tenner!, – he said, – Move on. I didn’t know how even describe it to google… wrote “pink pineapple oragon fruit” and clicked. Among photos of various fruit grown in Oregon I almost missed small picture of Dragon fruit from Hawaii (D’oh!). Apparently, it tastes like a cross between kiwi and pear and is full of various goodness. Hmm. Should I return to the store to get it? It would be more expensive to travel to Maui…
