I guess I have to be pleased – I have gradually acquired quite a following. 50 people, to be precise (see the side widget) Occasionally checking on them I was surprised at variety of interests and origins, on a first glance having nothing to do with mine…[a pottery in Kuwait? a Romanian poet? a photographer at a Midwest university?] For some reason, there is not a peep from any of them, other than occasional “like” message.
Dear visitors, if you do like my content, why don’t you say a word, other than clicking
“like” – that really tells me nothing. Don’t be shy, I like conversation and welcome all genuinely interested.
PS. A minute after I posted this somebody (an artisan in Topeka?) “liked” the post. Why? Say something instead, please.
PPSS. And now I have another follower, totaling 51. Hi!

I found you in Molly’ s blog and subscribed. Get notifications and read all you write. Live in Dubai, work as an administrator for Russian company. Used to be a translator back home long ago. Thank you.
Oh, you and other commenters are different story: you do have legible opinions and have expressed yourselves other than clicking “like” button (which I didn’t choose – it’s all WordPress doing).
Nice to meet you, btw – incidentally, who is Molly? not infamous “tandem_bike”, I hope?
Why “infamous”? Yes, it’ s her
Surprise, surprise. Поразительно, из какого сора приходят приятные читатели.
Это очень плохая тётя; сосредоточие всего, что я ненавижу. Она здесь периодический персонаж – как и я у неё в жужжалке.
Здесь, напр., и здесь, и здесь.
Oh, and besides: I am pretty sure I’ve never left a comment @tandem_bike’ journal. So if you saw my nick there that could only be as a deprecatory reference.
You are right, probably, when I am engrossed in something, I never pay attention to details, always absent minded, my problem, may be I am wrong and your blog appeared somewhere else… Sorry if I upset you and thank you for considering me a nice reader…
I’ve seen you @ Tenorgroupie and @ some other places, so maybe you’re right and it wasn’t @TB.
You haven’t upset me, I am just surprised: tell me who is your friend and so on – and very rarely people like me and her at the same time; we couldn’t be more different.
May be, because I am so far away from battles occurring there on the basis of the realms of life in States, We here, in UAE, will never have any status, just employment visa until age limit approaches, which is soon…
No, our mutual animus w/TB is not politics, etc-related. She disgusts me as a person.
What’s that about age limit? Arabs discriminate visitors on age-basis?
Arabs do not want aged persons crowding their horizons, they do not have facilities to care for aged persons if you are not a local one… Actually , i have not seen an old arab for 19 years that I live here. Probably, they keep them at home, but employment visa can be issued until 65… This country that looked so nice and hospitable 19 years ago, started looking different recently- very expensive and very hard to cope with
Time to consider some friendlier lands…
Interesting thread. Sometimes it is good for me to see things like this to remind myself that what I consider to be my “problems” aren’t such a big deal in the big picture. Perspective, I guess.
Problems? You have problems? I thought you only have solutions, Dan.
We were just chatting, two Jewish mothers, nodding our heads to one another.
“I thought you only have solutions, Dan.” My qotd.
Now I am thinking that I talked too much. In reality life goes on, whatever happens, it always goes on…
If you’d like me to delete some of more personal comments, I’ll do that.
Please, do… I would really appreciate that. Thank you!
Done.
Thank you so much!
No problemo
But I like the like button, if only I could find it
Ask your Blogger dudes. My WordPress guys installed it as a widget into the template, I didn’t move a finger.
