Deep freeze! - said TV guys. Spooky. Governors of NY and NJ prep to declare emergency du jour. OoooHhhh,+16F behind the window!
Let’s get some perspective, shall we?
And some details
(yep, this is how the window should look in deep freeze of winter)

*M, after the move I finally get to sorting a big box of F&F photos; found yours - and now gorgeous Oxford columns and clouds welcome me from the sofa table

I hear it will be in the 80′s next week.
We’ll see.
I was in northern North Dakota earlier this week – saw minus four degrees Fahrenheit. Too cold for this fat boy!
Which is what, -20C? That’s all? Ha! That was a normal daily winter temp in city where I went to middle – and high- school.
You’re too cold because you sit and are not moving. Now imagine doing your job @-30C, and the truck looks like this
(hint: my 1st paragraph is geographically connected to 2nd…)
You can have it! While I have a lot of insulation, I have found I do not care much for the cold even if I am moving. I can’t keep my hands warm with my circulation, for one thing. I’m a sweaty guy, too – that does not work well, either. Don’t like it hot, don’t like it cold. Guess I’d bitch if I were hung with a new rope!
So where is your ideal climate? Somewhere in Oregon?
People are hyperventilating. Listening to some of my friends who live in Alabama is particularly amusing. That said, I do wish I hadn’t lost my one pair of gloves two months ago. I wish I had my balaclava too.
G, you sound as if you are the one living in Mongolia and there are no store for days of travel!
Not many good ones, at least. I’m amazed that my neighborhood probably has more Italians than some towns in Sicily and yet has only has two pizzerias. Madness.
That might be, but I can’t believe there is no shop taking advantage of the weather to provide you with gloves and balaclava…as for pizza places – you know where there are plenty of those, in your close proximity…
