It took me about 6 months: overcoming the burnout, then getting used to the new platform (which I’m still in the process of) and taking stock and lessons of the past experience. But finally – I’m here, the place is swept, cleaned and open to visitors.
I intend to make some changes, compared to my old digs. I want it to be a place of pleasant relaxation. Of friendly, joyful and polite conversation – hopefully, witty (naturally – with guests like you!), sometimes brisk and brilliant, sometimes slow and contemplative – no pressure. We’ll seat inside our weathered pavilion, among rickety wooden furniture, soft (or firm, on demand) cushions tacked around for comfort, sip aromatic tea (or coffee, if you prefer) and chat. Outside, in the pond, frogs are chatting, too, and still air is tinted with twilight.
I can’t tell you which topics I shall deem unsuitable for discussion: it depends more on the tone of the argument; the list will be composed as we go along. I can tolerate wide variety of themes; it’s the aggression, hysterics, unfair representation of your fellow conversationists and generally rude, bullying behavior that will make me withdraw the invitation. Politics and religion are fine, as long as it is understood that I’m a libertarian and an atheist – and this is not a debate club. Just a small private party, dress code – casually elegant.

Ну что ж, перерыв закончился. Поиски нового места (и идей как это место обставить) заняли у меня полгода. Новая платформа пока не освоена полностью, прошу извинить неизбежные технические неувязки. Кроме того, этот блог будет отличаться от предыдущего; мне хочется избежать всех тех неприятных вещей, которые сделали мой старый дом, к концу прошлого года, таким для меня непривлекательным.
Итак, имеется беседка над прудом. Летние сумерки только начинаются, обед уплыл в прошлое, а до ужина далеко. Самое время для разговоров за чашкой – кофе или чая, на Ваше усмотрение. Я предложу тему, надеюсь она Вас заинтересует, и беседа поплывёт – или понесётся весёлым водопадом. Не знаю ещё, о чём мы будем говорить; вероятно, без королей и капусты не обойдётся, во всяком случае, я ожидаю от Вас любезного тона, широты взглядов и уважения к собеседникам. Штрафы за противное не предусморены – но приглашения станут редки. Это всё же не клуб для дебатов, просто чайная болтовня в летней беседке.
